
Soni Highland


Soni Highland, located in Soni Village, is a scenic spot famous for its vast fields of pampas grass.
From summer to autumn, these expansive pampas grass meadows stretch across the landscape, captivating many visitors.
Traveling to Soni Highland is most convenient by car.

The slightly brownish area in the center is “Okame Pond.”



You can walk along the ridgeline above Soni Highland.
The distant high mountain is Mount Kuroso, standing at an elevation of 1,037 meters.

In autumn, the entire area is covered with pampas grass.

Most of Ogame Pond is a wetland, where different plants grow.

Byobu Rock
Rising like a folding screen, its impressive form is truly breathtaking.
This rock wall stretches for about 2 kilometers and forms a sheer cliff approximately 200 meters high, with jagged edges resembling the teeth of a saw.

Saijobo Gorge

Following the Tokai Nature Trail, we head toward Saijobo Falls.

The stones in the river are densely covered with moss.

Koochi Gorge

Koochi Gorge refers to the valley that follows the Soni River downstream from Soni Village to Nabari.
You can see columnar jointed rock faces here, and it is a popular spot for autumn foliage.








Koochi Gorge extends all the way to Shorenji Dam in Nabari City.
