Ofusa Kannon
Long ago, this area was a large pond called “Koigafuchi.” In 1650, a local girl named Ofusa was walking by the pond when Kannon, riding on the back of a white turtle, appeared to her. This led to the construction of a small hall to enshrine the Kannon. The Kannon became known for granting wishes and gained widespread devotion.
In the Meiji era, with the help of local people, the current main hall was built.
Ofusa Kannon is a temple cherished and protected by ordinary people, not just special individuals.
