Buttsuryu-ji temple during the cherry blossom season

Buttsuryuji Temple, regarded as the southern gate to Muroji Temple, is located about 4 kilometers from Muro-ji. It was founded in 850 by Kenne, a disciple of Kobo Daishi Kukai.
The massive cherry tree on the temple grounds is the largest and oldest in Nara Prefecture, and it has been designated a natural monument by the prefecture.

The Cluster Amaryllis at Buttsuryu-ji (No Longer Visible)
Until around 2010, Buttsuryu-ji was also famous for its cluster amaryllis, but the scenery was lost due to damage caused by wild boars and deer.
However, it is gradually being restored.
