This is ‘Sanshu,’ a dining place located just before the entrance ticket booth of Isuien Garden.
The building, with its thatched roof, was relocated from the early Edo period (around 400 years ago).
If you’re only dining, there’s no need to pay the entrance fee for Isuien Garden.

“Sanshu’s ‘Mugi-toro-meshi'”

Mugi-toro-meshi is a dish featuring barley rice and grated yam.

Yoshikien Garden

The entrance to Yoshikien Garden is next to that of Isuien Garden.
Owned by Nara Prefecture, there is no admission fee.
The moss garden, especially the cedar moss, and the autumn leaves are exceptionally beautiful.
A river called Yoshiki-gawa flows between Isuien and Yoshikien Garden, giving Yoshikien its name.
If you’re visiting Nara, feel free to stop by.

Stone lantern

The rainy season has begun, and one of the highlights of Yoshikien, the moss, has transformed into a beautiful and calming green.

The maple trees and other plants have also turned a fresh and vibrant green.
